Join an evening full of music, fun, pot luck and friends interesting in promoting the message of peace not violence. The evening will be arranged around Open Mic format so if you would like to sing, play or speak, please send us kindly a note so we can put you on a line up. All Peace lovers are welcomed! Potluck at 6:00 pm, sign up to perform at 6-7 pm, Open Mic Concert 7:30pm. $5 donation suggested. 21st of Septemeber 2010, the International Day of Peace was celebrated with enthusiasm in Snohomish. Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater was filled with audience gathered to celebrate peace and appreciate the work of over 20 local artists - songwriters, musicians and poets who put together a concert for a Peace Day. The evening started with a potluck, an opportunity to get to know each other and was followed by heartfelt interpretations of respected artists like Joni Mitchell, Pete Seeger and more, as well as many original songs and music written by the performing artists. The concert was arranged around “open mic” format with artists from Snohomish but also Everett, Carnation, Whidbey Island and more. There were also several poems and writings recited, including a beautiful poem for Peace, written by 11 y.o. Isabel. A uniting theme of the respect for human life, willingness to get along and work out differences resonated through the evening and throughout the audience.
